A quasi experimental study to assess the effectiveness of planned teaching program on knowledge regarding antenatal care on Primi Gravida Womens in selected hospital at Daund” Pune”

Safe Motherhood Initiatives, a worldwide effort was launched by the world Health Organization in 1987 which aimed to reduce the number of deaths associated with pregnancy and childbirth. Appropriate antenatal care (ANC) is one of the pillars of this initiative. It highlights the care of antenatal mothers as an important element in maternal healthcare as appropriate care will lead to successful pregnancy outcome and healthy babies.
Aim of the study: The main aim of the study was a quasi-experimental study to assess the effectiveness of planned teaching program on knowledge regarding antenatal care on Primi gravida women’s in selected hospital at Daund” Pune.”
Methodology: Quasi-experimental study with quantitative descriptive approach. Non probability Purposive sampling technique used to select sample of 30 sample. A structural questionnaire can be used to assess the knowledge and practices regarding antenatal care among antenatal mothers. Content validity of the tool can be ascertained in consultation with guide and experts from various fields like medicine nursing and statistics.
Results: The experimental group pre-test mean and standard deviation values are 9.6 and 3.3 respectively. The post-test mean value is 6.13, standard deviation is 3.45; mean difference between pre and post-test is 3.47; standard error is 0.397 and paired ‘t' test value of experimental group is 8.71 which is highly significant indicates that there is improvement in quality of sleep after hot water footbath among the elderly.
Conclusion: The findings of the study revealed that There is significant effect of the effect of hot water foot bath therapy on quality of sleep among elderly people, staying in selected area of Pune district. Thus, study suggest that hot water foot bath therapy is effective for quality of sleep among elderly people.
