A study to assess the effectiveness of pelvic girdle exercise on pelvic girdle pain among primigravida women attending antenatal OPD at selected hospital of Daund

Pelvic girdle pain (PGP) is a common discomfort experienced by many primigravida women during pregnancy, often impacting their daily activities and quality of life. Effective interventions are essential to alleviate this condition and enhance maternal well-being. Pelvic girdle exercises, designed to strengthen and stabilize the pelvic region, have shown promise in reducing pain and improving functionality. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of such exercises in managing PGP among primigravida women. The findings will provide insights into non-pharmacological management strategies for pregnant women attending antenatal outpatient departments.
Aim of the study: The main aim of the study was assess the effectiveness of pelvic girdle exercise on pelvic girdle pain among primigravida women attending antenatal OPD at selected hospital of Daund.
Methodology: Quasi-experimental one group pre-test post-test design was used to evaluate effect of pelvic girdle exercise on pelvic girdle pain among primigravida women attending antenatal OPD at selected hospital of Daund. The structured questionnaire was prepared and tested for reliability and validity. The data collection was carried out in three phases and the data was analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics.
Results: The finding reveals that the effectiveness of pelvic girdle exercise on pelvic girdle pain among primigravida women attending antenatal OPD at selected hospital of Daund was found to be statistically significant in pregnant women. The demographic variable of antenatal exercises was associated to the level of significance at 0.05.
Conclusion: Overall findings of the shows that the pelvic girdle exercise was effective in reducing pelvic pain in antenatal women of selected OPD in Daund.
